Counselling, psychotherapy or therapeutic coaching: where do I begin?
You may know that you want support without knowing which label fits. That’s a reasonable place to begin.
Counselling and psychotherapy overlap, and the way they are offered depends on the practitioner and the person coming for support. At North Cove, we can explore thoughts, feelings, relationships and experiences at a pace that feels manageable. You do not need to arrive with a diagnosis or a neatly explained problem.
Therapeutic coaching places more emphasis on the changes you want to make and the steps that might help you move towards them. There is still room to consider the beliefs, emotions and experiences influencing where you are now.
Choosing an approach involves more than deciding whether you want to discuss the past or the future. Your circumstances, goals and the kind of support you need all matter. During our free 15-minute telephone consultation, we can talk about what is bringing you here, clarify the difference between the services and consider whether my work is suitable for you.
